my story

Two years ago, I moved to NYC at 17 years old to pursue a place in the music industry. I was born in Saigon, Vietnam and raised in suburban Cincinnati, Ohio, so this was considered a huge leap of faith for me. I came to New York not knowing anyone, relying on direct scholarship money from my high school to cover living expenses for the first few months.

Over time, I discovered myself and grew into the person I've always wanted to be. I'm dedicated to giving back to the city that helped me reach my full potential, and I want to show LGBTQ+ and minority youth that their dreams are possible and their presence makes a positive impact in the world.

In my sophomore year of high school, I created Camp Boneyard, which started off as a virtual music festival that livestreams on Twitch. We've amassed a total viewership of ~2.5k a year and have raised over $16,000 for charities across 5 years.

In April 2026, I ran Camp Boneyard in-person for the first time, funded by the CUNY BA Changemakers Grant for youth-led initiatives. I brought together 15 youth volunteers in NYC, ranging from high school to college students from different schools and backgrounds. We partnered with Callen-Lorde, a local organization that provides healthcare to LGBTQ patients regardless of ability to pay. I deeply believe in music as a driver for social change.
